Society of Transport Engineers Nepal (SOTEN) Introduces Knowledge Sharing Series
With a vision to disseminate knowledge and enhance technical expertise, the Society of Transport Engineers Nepal (SOTEN) is initiating the KNOWLEDGE SHARING SERIES on 28 April 2024.
The first episode focuses on “Cable Propelled Transit (CPT) as an Alternative Mode of Urban Mobility.” Harold Hurel, an international public transportation expert from France with extensive experience in urban mobility worldwide, explains the technology and its characteristics. He describes the technical strengths and weaknesses of the system.
This programme is supported by the Department of Civil Engineering, Pulchowk Campus, Institute of Engineering, and was highly praised by the participants.
As a continuation of the SOTEN KNOWLEDGE SHARING SERIES, the second episode was concluded on 12 May 2024. Er. Chuda Raj Dhakal, Project Director at PD (ADB), DOR, presented on “Upgradation of National Highways Executed by Project Directorate ADB, DOR: Status and Way Forward.” He discussed the issues and lessons learned during the execution of large projects.
Deputy Director General of the Department of Roads (DOR), Dr. Bijay Jaisi, further discussed projects supported by other donor agencies, including JICA and the World Bank, highlighting the similarities in issues and challenges.
